Glucose Test!

Today at my monthly doctor's visit (which now will come every two weeks) I had to do the glucose test. Which means, to those of you who have not done it, is you have to drink the syrup like orange drink and wait an hour and then get blood drawn. The drink to me really isn't all that bad. I mean I would not choose it, but I can handle it just fine. But today for some reason, the nurse poking me with a needle was not like normal. It hurt, it usually never even phases me, but today it felt like she was jabbing a whole knife in my arm. I don't know if I was just being a baby today or what... but I usually can take needles like they are nothing. But today I wanted the nurse to go take a leap with her needle. And she was really nice too, so I kind of felt bad for thinking that. Luckily now (about 3 hours later) it is not even tender anymore. I guess it just wasn't my day for a needle. :-)

Glad you survived that. Lisanne just had a similar experience with the orange goo. Just one more reminder for me that I'm done having babies....LOL

Yikes sorry about the the nasty jab! I hated having to fast all that time and then only getting the yucky orange super sugar soda!

Did you have to fast for yours? I didn't with mine, thank goodness. The lab where I went gave me the choice between orange and cola-flavored, and I took the orange [I'd think the cola would be nasty!]. The nurse didn't poke me in the arm at first ~ she just pricked my finger. Then, after the test, she drew my blood. Thank goodness it didn't hurt ~ she was really good. Sorry you had a rough experience. :( Hopefully you passed!
