I know, I know!

Okay, I do realize I don't post very often but seriously my life is never dull! My baby girl just fractured her leg (tibia). She is doing very well considering. I am not allowed to let her walk at all. Yeah, get this not only do I have to keep an almost two year old from walking, but I also have to take care of a two month old. And my husband has been out of town since last Tuesday. On Wednesday night about 15 minutes before her bedtime, Avie was just twirling and dancing around like she always does, and she caught her foot underneath our ottoman. I knew right off that this was a normal fall. She takes pain very well, and usually recovers from the hardest of falls very quickly. This time it was different. It took me about five minutes to get her calmed down. But then I put her down to see if she could walk and she just screamed. I felt so bad. My mother-in-law was spending the night with me. I called Isaac and asked him what to do. And he said to watch her for a while and she how she does, and not to put her to be until I knew for sure. Well, she didn't get better, and something told me I was going to have to take her to the ER. Well, we called my sister-in-law over (she has six kids) to take a look at it. She thought it looked okay, but as soon as Avie tried to walk to her I knew. We took her immediatly. Of course like always, we had to wait and wait at the Emergency Room. But finally they took x-rays, and sure enough she had a small fracture. They put a splint-type cast on her and sent us home, with instructions to call and schedule an appointment with the orthopedic doctor ASAP. So after an incredible long almost completely sleepless night, all of maybe 2 hours or so, I called and they said they could get us in @ 10:15. So now my baby girl has semi cast from her toes to her mid-thigh. She has to keep it on for about 2 1/2 weeks. She is not allowed to walk, and although she is allowed to crawl, has a hard time doing it. She is getting better at scooting around on the floor, though. Awesomely she is in high spirits. She is a trooper through and through. She does have tons of pent up energy, though. She is riot to watch as she tries to burn energy bouncing and bopping on her behind. I just thank God that she is okay, and that she is still joyful! Her cheerful face is a blessing to me even through all of this mess.
