Okay, first off I should probably clarify. No.....I am not pregnant. I love my babies and eventually I will want to have another one but right now I don't know that I would be as excited about that as I was about my mom's actual surprise!! Lol!
But onto her real present. (Sorry about the picture...my camera was messing up so this is the best shot that I got. But I still think that it clarify's the moment!) For the past two or three months I have been trying very gently to get my Grandma Lois to agree to come (from Florida) for my mom's 50th birthday party. It wasn't that she didn't want to she just didn't think that she would be able to. So as of Monday I didn't think it was going to happen and kind of just had to put the idea out of my head. I was needless to say, a little bummed. But then on Tues. I got a call from my mother-in-law (who lives not far from my Grandma and spends time with her everyweek) that they were booking her flight right then. That they figured out a way to make it happen and got it done. They told me she would be flying in on Thurs. and I could hardly contain myself!!! I just about jumped out of my skin with excitement! Truthfully, I must admit I really wanted her to come for my mom's birthday but I love seeing her too and wouldn't at all mind having her come and visit for a few days!!!
The best part of all though was surprising my mom!! When I found out that she was for sure coming, I called my step-dad and made sure he could help me with the set up to deliver. He thought it best to just meet at a restaurant and bring my Grandmother there. Well, my mom had set out a different dinner and was a little hesitant to go out to eat when she already had a plan. She couldn't figure out why he would want to go out to eat so bad. He didn't want to push the subject so that she wouldn't be suspcious. So he called me and had me tell her that he invited us and we were excited about coming. Well, to get to the point, my mom was SO surprised. I came in first with the kids while Isaac parked the car. Grandma waited inside the front set of doors. I went in and sat the kids down and kissed my mom hello....all normal routine. She had no idea. So then I went back out as if to go and meet Isaac. She was totally disctracted by the kids and didn't even see us bring Grandma in. The plan worked perfectly!!! I said mom we have a surprise for you and she looked up and literally jumped out of her chair saying "Oh, my goodness! Oh, my goodness!" She cried tears of pure joy and then she said she really couldn't eat she was just so excited. So for a little while she just watched as we all ate.

There is really nothing better to me than seeing my family so happy. To bring joy to my mom brings absolute joy to me!!! I loved every second of it!!

What a wonderful surprise. I am sure that reunion between mother and daughter was very emotional and happy!! Great job Lois!! I am so glad it all worked out!
Great job!!! I wondered what the surprise was. How sweet that you would organize something like that for your mom. So I take it that this grandma is the one who you are named after? I hope they had a fantastic time!
